Seminar about Hammams during the Ayyubid Caliphate Was Held at the University of Zakho

On Tuesday, the 12th of January 2016 at 12:00 a.m., Dr. Shawkat Arif Mohammed, lecturer at the Department of History, presented a seminar about Hammams during the Ayyubid Caliphate (567-648) at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Zakho. In his seminar, Dr. Shawkat Arif Mohammed discussed the importance of oriental Hammams, in particular general Hammams, during the Ayyubid Caliphate in present Egypt. He focused on the essential role of Hammams on the society, the health sector, and the religion during this time. Furthermore, Dr. Shawkat Arif Mohammed mentioned the first Hammam in Egypt which was named after Ammar al Athi. After the presentation by Dr. Shawkat Arif Mohammed, constructive debates were conducted between the presenter and the participants, including lecturers and students.
